Powhatan High School is proud to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, providing free income tax preparation to individuals and families with a household income of less than $60,000 per year.
All tax returns are prepared by IRS-trained and certified student volunteers, ensuring accurate and reliable service.

What to Bring
Please bring the following documents with you:
Social Security cards and/or ITIN cards for all individuals listed on the return
Photo ID (for taxpayer and spouse, if filing jointly)
All income statements (W-2, 1099, Social Security statements, etc.)
Tuition statements (1098-T) and related expenses, if applicable
Childcare provider statement (if applicable)
Affordable Care Act forms (1095-A, B, or C)
A copy of last year’s tax return, if available
Bank account and routing number for direct deposit
