Who we are

The Powhatan Education Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enhance the learning experience for Powhatan County Public Schools’ learning community. The Foundation promotes innovative educational opportunities, recognizes outstanding achievements, and maintains and develops community partnerships.

Promote Innovative Education

The Powhatan Education Foundation awards Classroom Innovation Grants that foster innovation, creativity and collaboration in Powhatan County Public Schools.

Recognize Outstanding Achievements

The Powhatan Education Foundation awards annual scholarships to PHS seniors who exemplify the Foundation’s high standard of excellence. Teachers of the Year are also recognized for their outstanding performance with monetary awards.

Develop Community Partnerships

The Powhatan Education Foundation seeks to partner with individuals and organizations in the community to enhance the high quality education available in Powhatan County Public Schools.
