Who we are

The Powhatan Education Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to enhance the learning experience for Powhatan County Public Schools’ learning community. Formed in 2011, the Powhatan Education Foundation has steadily increased its impact on education in Powhatan County. Its all- volunteer board engages in the community to support Powhatan public school students by participating in fund-raising that provides innovation grants, student enrichment activities and post secondary scholarships.

Promote Innovative Education

The Powhatan Education Foundation awards Classroom Innovation Grants that foster innovation, creativity and collaboration in Powhatan County Public Schools.

Recognize Outstanding Achievements

The Powhatan Education Foundation awards annual scholarships to PHS seniors who exemplify the Foundation’s high standard of excellence. Teachers of the Year are also recognized for their outstanding performance with monetary awards.

Develop Community Partnerships

The Powhatan Education Foundation seeks to partner with individuals and organizations in the community to enhance the high quality education available in Powhatan County Public Schools.
